• Meaningful jobs with fair wages and benefits negotiated through strong collective bargaining.

• Targeted training, apprenticeship, and re-entry programs that translate military skills into good union jobs.

• Protection of veterans’ rights in the workplace and in our communities through coordinated legislative and political action with our CAP department.

• Recognition, mentorship, and leadership opportunities within the union so veterans can shape the policies that affect them and all members.

Our commitments

• Bargaining for Veteran-Friendly Contracts: We will fight to include provisions that address veterans’ specific needs from scheduling and benefits to hiring preferences and retraining opportunities.

• Legislative Advocacy: Working with our CAP department and allied organizations, we will press for laws and policies that honor veterans’ service with real economic opportunity and workplace protections.

• Community & Member Support: We will create and expand programs for job placement, retraining, mental health resources, and veteran-to-veteran mentorship across Region 6.

• Recognition & Inclusion: Veterans are leaders in our halls, on the shop floor, and in our communities. We will ensure their voices are heard and celebrated inside the union.
